Just got my Warbirds Digest 10 , another excellent issue.. If I have one overal criticism of WD is that all photos are not labelled... :-( anyway I digress

Can anyone provide the ID of the P-40 Fuselage on page 28 in the Ron Fagen Article? is it.. AK753, 42-10083 or another?

Many Thanks

Paul

I'm a little confused about Fagen's P-40s as well. I believe the article states...I don't have it in front of me...that AK863/N7205A purchased from Canada was restored into AK753/N4420K. But a while back there was a post with a picture of the fuselage of AK873/N7205A in a museum. So did AK753 incorporate parts of AK873...wings maybe...or are they two separate aircraft?

The photo without a caption of the unrestored P-40 is s/n 42-10083. Not sure off hand what Canadian serial number that is.

On the other question, I don't have an answer for that except to say that to the best of my recollection N4420K was the regisration number of Shirley II which is about to undergo a rebuild.
