The F-86H is 52-2057; the F-86F is 52-5303. These are the only two that Walt owned.

Thanks to the Surviving Sabres site, we can clear things up. "Blue Canyon" was the location of the plane at the Socorro, NM compound; it went from there to Ontario, OR and from there to the present location.

Any guesses on ID or where it came from?

US Demobbed (http://www.usdemobbed.org.uk/locations. ... ation=8680) says it is 52-5303 and also has a photo showing it in a much better condition. The airframe apparently came from Anoka, MN (Polar Air Museum or American Wings Air Museum?) by way of the Valiant Air Command Museum in Titusville, FL (http://www.forgottenjets.warbirdsresour ... 25530.html).
Apparently it was already for sale last November: https://aerodynamicmedia.com/f-86f-airframe-for-sale/

Roger

These 2 were at Anoka in storage with the American Wings Mohawks. I think I took these in the spring of 1998.

-5303 plus two other F-86Fs were at Anoka, not the F-86H. Doing a good job of unstraightening things here!

A number of you have raised questions about the F-86H fuselage that is listed as part of the my late father Dr. Walter V. Powell's aviation collection (Western PA Warbirds Museum) at auction near Mercer, Pennsylvania on July 18th. IT is NOT the same aircraft that was once on display at Valiant Air Command in Titusville--that static display restoration was moved to the Western PA Warbirds Museum and then later sold. The more recent F-86H front fuselage, as is, was a more recent purchase, and your comments on its origins have been helpful.
Appreciate also the chatter about mislabeled parts (and instruments). The P-47 cockpit windshield has been corrected, with serial number noted. And some others. There will be quite a few F-86 parts at this sale, without adequate time to list them online, or necesssarily describe them--so all the more benefit to those that can attend. Keep 'Em Flying, Folks! Regards, Dr. Walter L. Powell :drink3:
