The Collings Foundation P-51C flew over my house about an hour ago, "Nine O Nine" about 20 minutes ago, and "Witchcraft" about 5 minutes ago. Inbound to Palomar Airport for the next couple of days.

Great weekend in SoCal for warbirds, The Collings Foundation in San Diego and The POF airshow at Chino!

This afternoon at 3:40 pm. four single engine monoplanes overflew my workplace in Brenham low and slow heading NW and at least one had a big radial. I felt if from inside the shop, noticed a co worker looking around puzzled and then I ran outside. Looking straight into the afternoon sun for only a short glimpse didn't make for good identification but there they were in perfect four-ship v formation. One was conspicuously bigger than the others and had kinda elliptical wings and tail. The others had a more squared off shape. Three different types among four a/c.

EFD had several Harriers, saw two take off and at least 4 more on the apron.

And Aluminum Overcast in Camarillo. Probably some pretty smoky flightd though with the big brush fire in that area.

Oops! Found out that the B-17 spent most of the weekend in Chino for a cylinder change. Not sure how much that messes up their schedule. Did they go to Camarillo then, or just skip it?

The flight of four seen over Brenham, TX was the Avenger,P-40,Corsair and Zero from Texas Flying Legends. They were on their way to the Central Texas Airshow, Temple.

There were about 16 Harriers on the ramp at EFD. They overnighted then most left on Friday.

I'm surprised you didn't see, or at least, hear the CF Huey as it went by on its way to Temple.

There was also a T-6 formation clinic held at Fredricksburg, TX as well, this weekend.

For a few days now I've been hearing a distinct sound,
but the shape hasn't looked quite 'right' to be what Conair normally buzzes 'round here in.

And now I know why.
I'd like everyone to meet ConAir Tanker #60~

Don't get me wrong- last week a Convair (and CL-125) was buzzin' round as well,
but this Electra is a new sight for me.
I dig it!!!
