I dont mean any offense but I wonder how much damage she has received being moved around the place since she came out of the swamp?

This is the part that I don't understand: "will be on display in a specially constructed outdoor exhibit". I have never been to the museum there, but have we not learned that outdoor storage of aircraft in humid environments near an ocean is not a good idea. After spending $5 million to restore the aircraft, how about spending a little more to keep it indoors away from the environment. I know the aircraft was in the jungle for 60+ years, and it has been outside since arriving here in the US, but I think a permanent display needs to be done indoors.

I'm hoping that poor reporting has struck again and that means a diorama, not actually leaving the aircraft exposed to the elements.

Deep breath. If they are planning on spending $5M and it being the museum's "crown jewel", one would think that it will be an indoor diorama or some sort of climate/humidity controlled dome. Or, maybe they will save the $5M and scrap it for beer cans. Who knows?

It would appear the airplane will be reassembled and temporarily displayed (in a "garden setting"--outdoors??) in the swamp setting until funds can be raised, then restored to static display condition (presumably on its landing gear) and then displayed indoors in the museum display hangar.

Nope...it all was loaded onto the trucks at the same time.

I heard that an old mid 70's Air Classics magazine that has an article about this plane. The author of the article helicoptered out to the plane and took pics and went inside. Back then the water level was up about 1/3 to 1/2 the the fuselage height. He had to go underwater to get to different parts of the fuselage.
