A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

Sorry for the sluggish response (I don't get back here much), but welcome to WIX, Roy.

You realize, of course, that you can't post a comment like "I'm also working on a Tempest mkV" without follow up pics and progress reports.

Hi Nathan,
May I suggest if you go down the P40 path an E would be a better choice due to engine availability and the Rudder is rather complex a nice easy point to cut your teeth would be the firewall, some simple folds and a few curves to practice with.
Don't be put off by the detractors we all have to start somewhere all the best with your dream.
Cheers,
Ashley.
