How many 23's did Hughes own? PASM makes the same claim of their Dragon, James?

Slam the door and it will fall apart? Is this the one that was so eaten up with corrosion?

No this one doesn't have the corrosion issues that the ex CAF one had. the main problem with this one is that it has been moved to an outside tie down spot and has not flown in several years. So it needs lots of money to get it ready for any ferry permit. the person brokering the airplane has been especially obnoxious and rude to any potential buyers and is out of touch with the realities of the U.S. economy and recession.
I know someone that has been trying to buy it since last year, and the seller just gets more and more rude. The logjam is with the seller not any potential buyers.

Hughes never owned ours. As far as I know we've never claimed he did. At least not in anything official, I've no idea what the volunteers might have been saying at some point.

Nope, since you're familiar with the former CAF B-23 Bluhawk, I'm thinking you're referring to the "Moses Lake"
Dragon. I don't have those notes handy right now, but it had a white basecoat scheme with colorful orange
and whatever stripes. It sat outside on that northwest clime for many years. I believe owned by Robert Schaefli,
but purchased a few years back by a fella with an Alaska registered company....name escapes me right now.

EDIT
I've heard later comments that the Moses bird wasn't as bad as previously thought, but have no idea how it falls either way.

Some interior/exterior photos of the late Mike Bogue's Dragon from a still active ebay link..

One of the former crew chiefs of this bird is a WIX member, the bird was in fair shape but had one weak engine as well
as typical long term storage considerations. When he was alive she was Mr. B's baby! I truly hope this beauty has finally found some love! :D

Mike Bogue's B-23 N747M last flew in 1994 and the last time we ran the engines was in 2002. Howard Hughes owned several B-23's as his company, as well as Pan Am were converting them to executive transports. N747M was not converted by Hughs into a 2 pilot aircraft until after he sold it to FMC.

Wayne, ex crew chief, N747M

Wow, what an A-Hole! The guy is making fun of someone who's first language is not English. That's pretty rude of him to assume that guy is not serious. After all, he did leave contact information. No wonder they haven't sold that airplane yet. You can't treat potential buyers like that. All of this is making me think that maybe they aren't serious about selling this aircraft. Maybe a court is forcing them to sell it to settle an estate or something and they don't want to sell it? I don't know what to think of this.

That's basically how my friend was treated. He owns three hangars and several airworthy aircraft and has the financial means to pay cash, but couldn't get past the nature of this supreme A**whole ! They also have Beech 18 serial #1 , and it hasn't sold either.

Well, If you really think about the question and the scams going around I can't really blame his response.

Lets get back to the topic and stop the personal commentary on the seller.
