This one seems to have slipped under my radar, I wasn't aware of it until I came across it when looking for something else on the Fighter Factory website.

How cool is that! That really will be something worth seeing when it's completed.

Does anyone have any more details on the project? Photos?

It's been there for a while now Mike.

Me2 curious however.

Also curious as to the latest on his Ki-61 in Aussy land. I was told it would be powered by......a genuine Japanese build DB ( Ha-40 )

And...also curious to his Me109E status. It has been in the works for quite a few years. Me thinks with now 2 airworthy samples in NA, smarts & parts would be less of an issue.

Any Mr Yagen insiders can help ?

Last I heard, the Emil was still being built in Eastern Europe somewhere, and they've had a hell of a time coming up with usable wing structure plans. I've sent them everything I had (which was quite a bit), but apparently the ones they really need are held by some blokes in England who aren't in a terrible rush to share that info.

That situation may have changed dramatically in the past couple years, though- I haven't talked with them about it in a while.

Weren't thay having a Buchon restored as well at one point?

It's correct ~ the project is stored in Germany.

Interesting. I wonder where the English blokes got it in the first place, or was it reverse engineered from decent samples? Also, haven't there been a few 109E restorations to come out of Hungary? You'd think they would have had to do a wing rebuild or two?

Can't wait to see the Ki-61 complete. I wonder who's doing the engine rebuild? Vintage V-12's? If DB601's are considered rare, I can't imagine what that makes an Ha-40....and I bet no parts interchange either. Didn't the Japanese have two different license built versions of the DB-601? Always seemed kinda crazy to me.
