AW is still very much a work in progress, Dave tried to get the tunnel guns installed, but ran out of time before Reno....

Nothing wrong with manual mode! It's been close to 20 years since I restored the mechanical end of a Martin 250. Although I never worked on the electrical system, I seem to remember reading that the normal life expectancy of those amplidynes was about 20-30 hours of operation. That alone might be enough to convince you that manual mode is a good thing!

As for the tunnel guns: Great, those Bell adapters are getting hard to find. Personally, I'd just like to see Dave get that tail gear tucked up first. I don't know if it's practical to do, but for some reason an extended tail gear (on B-17, P-40, PV, or whatever) always reminds me of a guy with his fly open.

I think I'll make up a sign saying "Tail Ballast" and stating my weight, see what kind of flight I can get in on!!!
Sounds like it was really a way cool flight, but just imagine making a trip like that in the middle of an Alaskan Winter, with folks shooting at you!! Hats off to those gents!
