This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I soaked the matches in gasoline.....I shouldn't have opened my mouth. For those who took offense, I apologize.

Not going to bash the CAF, I held them up high since I could pick up any of Grandpa's Dispatches (y'all remember when the cover was all blue? Still got just about every one from 77-02). We would visit them at least 3 times a year when we would go down to the valley (when they were in Harlingen).

But I lost interest when the name change thing came about really. I understand the circumstances surrounding it but I think a big chunk of the CAF was lost with the name.

Truth of the matter is, is that we live in a different world today. Full of politics and all the wonderful things that go with them, CAF just got sucked in big time. Fact still remains though, as others have stated, they maintain the largest fleet of flying warbirds all on display for the public to see. For that I say thanks.

*going to go in the corner and hide now*

Having recently been looking at a range of aircraft, some CAF with the logo, many without, I just don't see the issue, nor the need to bang-on about it so much. I'd rather it didn't exist, but it's not actually that important, IMHO.

Let's stop WIX turning into the same old five argument re-runs and actually enjoy each other's contribution to the wider world of warbirds.

I logged into this thread to see more insights to Osh, not hear something that I (for one) am over. Anyone passionate about it, feel free to tell the CAF - and that's the flipside to August's valid point. Anyway, I'm not that interested in that anymore, sorry.

Back to Osh. One of the great aircraft I enjoyed seeing...

Now that that's settled (or at least moved to a different burner), here's a few of the bombers:

Nice shots, Chris! I still haven't had time to go through mine yet and have been distracted by doing last weekends Abbotsford shots while they're still fresh in my mind.

The guy on the ground in the flames photo looks like he either got scared or is blasted from the heat!

Pretty sporting, to let fly with the flames that close :)

Take your time, Al - I have a few more posts worth and then we can turn it over to you.

Here's some Mustangs in various stages of arrival/departure. I did let the shutter speed get a bit slow, so the clarity stinks on these. You should see the ones I deleted, though

I wouldn't mind owning 1% of the Oshkosh Truck rolling stock that was lined up on the east side of 18/36. They seemed a bit long on inventory.

Than about that time Duggy flies by and I forget and leave the shutter on auto - frozen prop syndrome

About 100 yards and 70 years separate these two...
