Nice pics! It always struck me as funny the Navy facilities out in the middle of the Great Plains! I knew someone who was trained as a sailor with a plywood ship! I guess not everyone in the Navy even sees water!

I only scanned a few of the million photos that are at the Combat Air museum in Topeka, KS - about an hour from Olathe. The Olathe NAS museum shut down in 2004 and gave most of their stuff to Topeka. I was blown away by the types flown out of Olathe - Helldivers, Avengers, hellcats, Corsairs, bearcats, PB4Ys, Neptunes, Skyrays, Skyhawks, Corair IIs, and even Crusaders! Lots of pics of all the types. I will be scanning more soon.

What is the story of the Cosair found just south of the base in a barn near Gardner,Ks. I was told it was a birdcage corsair and went to NZ. Any truth to it?
