Does that big lever indicate DOWN....with little green lights?

Who took the photo?
Are you planning on giving credit to the photographer or at least a link to the site it came from?

Hi,

The Harvard is South-African ZU-AOX/7643, and the accident happened on April 8, 2006. ZU-AOX/7643 has been repaired since. Do some googling and you will find the author of the photo.

Regards,

Benno

Not all T-6/SNJ/Harvards have gear lights. The G-models do, and some of the earlier models have been retrofitted.

But all T-6s have windows to verify the gear is down and locked..............

No doubt. Always check the pins....even if you have lights...

If does not matter how many light and horns you hang on the plane, there is only one fool proof gear down indicator, that is the Mk.1 eyeball, all T-6s have windows above the gear so you can see at a glance if the gear is down and locked.

S Seats/Seat Belts

I was also taught that S is for safety ie harness locked, canopy open ect
and has my mentor Ed used to say "brain uncaged".
