I must say I think it would be kinda cool to see a Vietnam battle, complete with Spads, AC-47s, F-4's, Hueys, Pyro, .....you get the picture.
BTW, How many Hueys could we see come in for the show? How many could be used for an effective reenactment for a dust off?
Believe it or not, but their is quite a bit of hardware in that neck of the woods!!
Here is my thought. Being that I am a Vietnam war Historian on truck Trans units in Vietnam. Using that road in the bean field. Several deuce-n-halfs and a jeep or 3 as a convoy with a couple of guntrucks for support. Enemy opens fire, convoy haulted. Gun trucks respond to the enemy, CONTACT CONTACT CONTACT is out on the radio. Air support on the way.................O-1 or O-2 makes a pass marks the smoke. A-4 and F-4 from collings foundation roll in HOT and Heavy. Action resides and a lone skydiver comes in the view, a pilot has been shot down. In roll the sandys to support the pilot up close. The rescue helicoper, the S-58 from the foundation in PA (marine corps). Pilot rescued but now it has turned from Save to Search and destroy. A lone OH-6A comes in and hovers the tree tops, it jinks left then right.............Taking fire. In rolls the UH-1m on a rocket run. Enemy found bring in the CAV................3 hueys in trail with troops!!!!!! Now we have them on the ground!!!
This could be done very easy!!!!
