Ok WIXers...time for a sanity check (and to avoid ANOTHER political train wreck

"Zebra Mussel Primer"
This is NOT a Zebra Mussel. This eats planes, but Zebra Mussels do NOT eat planes, thus this is NOT a Zebra Mussel.
The Zebra Mussel is a tiny little being...'bout the size of your fingernail. They are not fearsome creatures. They pose a threat to aquatic environments, but not to man or machine.
Through their life processes, Zebra Mussels actually filter water and make it cleaner. That's good for the appearance of a lake, but not good for all the other little creatures that depend on lake algae to feed. This is how the Zebra Mussel has the greatest negative impact on the ecosystem...screwing up the food chain.
Zebra Mussels also are dense in fat and are able to filter large amounts of PCB's out of the water. That's a good thing...that is until another creature eats the Zebra Mussel and now brings more concentrated PCB levels back into the food chain. Lake fish now have higher levels of PCB's in their body tissues. Eating lake fish in large quantities is simply not a healthy idea.
Other than a nuisance, Zebra Mussels pose no real danger to underwater aircraft.
