As RickH and JDK pointed out on the previous page RB, the Canberra is an Aussie built GAF,
not a Martin B-57.

One of the contracts A84-229 fulfilled in 1991 before returning to visit Aus in '92 is mentioned
here on a page by Les Wilson recounting some history of A84-229...
www.bywat.co.uk/229-story.html

From the page...
Return to the States
"229 returned to the States were she was now being flown out of Boise, Idaho. Here she was employed in the role of testing equipment for various companies. It was during this time that 229 under took several flights with out bomb doors to drop a pod for a research into different recovery methods and tracking by radar."

Ours are OK about it though......

This clip was taken only yesterday, Vulcan G-VLCN (XH558), taking off from RAF Coningsby for her flight back to her base at Bruntingthorpe after her visit there for another compass swing.

XL482/N1350X (now at Pima) was used for propellor acoustic work.

Canberra A84-229 at the Boise Airport in 1998.

Saw this fly at an airshow a few years before this was taken. Got invited to hop the ropes to look inside. Seemed to be nice folks flying it.

Also was a similar bird that was overall gray with yellow markings sitting on the other side of the airport. Seem to remember both left around mid 1999.
