NWOC was well attended again this year. With the exception of my presentation...

the speakers were excellent. I will take a whack at the speakers from memory.
Dr Mike Schloss (Skyraider) told us we are all too fat and need to eat less and exercise more.
Dr Warren Silberman (FAA Doc and Huge pilot friend) told us that if you use the correct AME and are smart, almost anyone can get a medical with some work.
Doug Gilliss (Jet Examiner) gave a good Checkride preperation overview.
Hal Weekley Gave told some wonderful stories about flying combat in B-17s and then flying the EAA -17 for another many many years.
Rogers Smith, (Test pilot who has flown nearly every jet with wings, and some without) gave an incredible speech on the culture of safety.
Allen Silver (parachute expert) gave a great talk about using, and caring for your parachute. He also covered survival equipment and aircraft egress.
I gave my regular speech about the last years statistics and the attitude we approach our airplanes.
Two California pilot/Lawyers gave a great talk about liability and incorporation to protect yourself and your families.
The second day, back by Popular demand, Dr Jerry Berlin talked about "the affects of authority" He told us more than we want to know about how the pilots mind works, or doesn't work. Why we are good at what we do and how that can become a problem in certain circumstances.
The engine panel was very well represented. I will try at the risk of forgetting someone....
Precision Engines,
Roush Jack & Paul Draper

I missed the Saturday Lunch and afternoon speakers.
Bob Odegaard and I went and flew the POF PSP C-47. It had a bad carb. so that did not work out.
Saturday night was a reception at POF and sunday am was the wrap up.
The NWOC crew did a great job as usual and I strongly recommend attendance. Next year is in the W, DC area.
Tailwinds,
Doug Rozendaal.
