Interesting picture of a P-63E s/n 43-11728 before the AF Museum received it.Note it doesn't have the scoop or gear covers.
Does anybody have more info?

I am not familiar at all with this aircraft's history, but the intake does look like one of the "Pinball" variations to me.

When the red King Cobra was based at Oakland, CA I parked my SNJ next to it for two years (1980-1982).

Does anyone have a photo of the CAF's P-63 when it was parked out front of Love Field in Dallas before they picked it up?

TIA,

Lynn

Hi,
The sample shown is a Bell P-63E, AAF 43-11730 with BG William V. Newhall in front of it. c. 1946 at Cleveland Air Races, Ohio. This particular sample later became FAH 402 in 1949. Photo via Wix.
