just got my package today. THat was really cool of you. Thank you so much. I am going to have mine shadow boxed for my gameroom. Once again your hard work inspired me to become a Col in the CAF and active in my local wing.

I mirror mustangdrivers sentiments! My entire experience with AM927, the WIX effort, Gary's enthusiasm and committment, and the feeling of appreciation have prompted me to become a Col as well...

Hey Ryan I am glad to hear that. IT is a pretty cool place. Through working with my Wing (Keystone) I have gained alot of respect for the guys that flew the L-birds. It might not be a P-51, but it took guts.

You know,
aside from my previous prejudices against the the CAF based on their past, I too, am considering becoming a Colonel in the CAF. If for no other reason than to, in some small way, help fund projects like what Gary is doing on Lil and FiFi.
Gary...you are a modest man, but one after my own heart. You want to the job right and aren't afraid to ask for help and direction. And, if I can prevail on your modesty, YOU Sir are the reason why I am considering joining the CAF.
Aside from that I agree with Warbird Kid....I'm not aware of any CAF stuff in the State of CT either. If I did, I would be more than happy to lend a hand.

Ditto, I would also love to be a part of a local wing started up in Connecticut. Though my plate right now is quite full being 19. From college, my "night life", and voluntering at the Connecticut Air and Space Center I'm everywhere! Even though the C.A.S.C. isnt a flying museum, were doing the best we can

Going back to to the greenhouse, how did AM927 end up with an "M" model setup?
Since the majority of survivors seem to be "J" models that cockpit seems to be pretty rare.
On a side note, the BUFF actually has the same glass setup as non-"M' model B-24s, which I thought was interesting, the more things change, etc.

That is awsome that you are making time to do that. It was not that long ago that I was in college, working line service at KBVI, and trying to have a social life, and study. Static museums are very important as well. Keep up the good work.

That is great to hear. I love to go out and have fun with the guys. They jokewith me because one time while a freshman in college a friend and I had a double date. We went to pick them up, and they were not ready. They said to wait with their folks down in the den. Well it turned out that the girl I was to go out with had a live in grandfather who had a bunch of his pics up in the den. We all started talking, and I noticed that the pics were of him during WWII with his P-51. Needless to say, we hit it off, and made the girls wait for like 45 minutes while we listened. TO this day my freinds all say, "Remember the time you stod up a double date for the girl's grandpa"
