So my mother and I were talking at the airport on Sunday. She was talking about her childhood in London (Lewisham) during WWII. She was told (as a child) that one of the two blasts near her home in late June of 1944, was the result of a V-1 impact. Do any of your WIXers out there know of a website or data base that locates V-1 and V-2 hits as opposed to iron bomb hits?
First impact probably occured on the evening of June 23rd 1944 and hit across the street. She lived at #69 Pascoe Road in Lewisham. The home a #69 was badly damaged so they moved up the street to a relatives home on Wisteria Lane.
Second impact that hit Wisteria Lane probably occured on the evening of June 25/26th 1944. She recalls the dates fairly well because the second impact sent her mother into labor with my mom's younger sister.
Were the Germans still able to fly bombers over London as late as June of 1944 or were these both likely to be V-1s? Any help appreciated.
