Focke Wulf Fw 190A-6 wk.nr. 550470 ‘White 7’ of I./JG26
Brian O'Farrell, South Florida, Florida, USA.
Built by Ago, Oscherleben in mid 1943 the aircraft suffered an emergency landing at Wevelgem AB, Belgium after combat on 11.11.43, which resulted in 60 percent damage. At that time the pilot had four victories, three on the Russian front and the first B-17, ‘Stormy Weather’, lost on the second Schweinfurt raid of 17.8.43. This project incorporates parts from two wrecks (incl. wk.nr.0140668) recovered from France in 1999. Initially owned by Malcolm Laing, good progress had been made on the fuselage until the aircraft was recently traded to Brian O’Farrell who will continue to rebuild the aircraft to airworthy status. Registered N126JG.
