I found the following on the web tonight. Its always been a favorite little museum for me since I first went there years ago. Was sad when the founder died in an accident. I hope they can reopen soon.

ATTENTION: AS OF JANUARY 27, 2007
THE AIR VICTORY MUSEUM IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC
UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH OUR FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AND IN THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC SAFETY, THE AIR VICTORY MUSEUM IS FORCED TO CLOSE IT’S DOORS TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL THIS PROBLEM CAN BE RESOLVED.

THERE ARE BILLS THAT STILL HAVE TO BE PAID, EVEN THOUGH WE AREN’T GETTING ANY REVENUE FROM ADMISSIONS. IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE MONITARY FUNDS TO HELP US PAY THE BILLS IN THE INTERIM IT WOULD BE MOST GREATLY APPRECIATED. WE WOULDN’T ASK FOR THIS IF IT WASN’T DESPERATELY NEEDED. CHECKS CAN BE MAILED TO:

AIR VICTORY MUSEUM
68 STACY HAINES ROAD
LUMBERTON, NJ 08048

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND WE HOPE TO HAVE OUR DOORS OPEN AGAIN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Dave--

This sort of thing happened at CWH back when I worked there...for a brief period (a month or so IIRC) during opening hours they had the hangar doors open and a couple feet of floor cordoned off so people could see the aircraft, but couldn't actually enter the hangars! Was a similar fire-code problem, which the museum fixed ASAP.

(Not that fixing the code problem ultimately did much good, eh...!) :(

What was/is in the collection in Jersey? It's new to me.

S.
