Looks like you rearranged a bit, too!

Well, I guess we'll all just have to wait 'til tomorrow for our "Lil Fix" -- :)

Hey Gary - you have the right book on your desk there! may I reccomend the Monogram color chip book to accompany it as the ones in the Archer book are printed rather than actual chips. :)

I just noticed the box in the "before" photo that's labeled "Caution, Cat Inside."

But how else to label a box that needs special care?

That being said, no fair posting clean desk photos!

More things to aspire to…

Thanks for the tip, Mark V. I actually have, in my personal collection of "stuff," a couple of original U.S. Army/Navy color chip books that have the actual colors that they painted the airplanes with. I am using the Archer book to get the proper paint numbers and my paint chips to take to the paint shop to match them up with their fancy-pants computer thingy. I have actually already done that and the paint is sitting next to my tool box as we speak. ;-)

Oh, and before anyone calls GreenPeace to report me...the cat only goes in the box on it's own accord. We only occasionally put something on top of the box to keep it in there. Okay, only kidding.

That's a "D" model on the cover of that book.

But nice try.

I wonder though, if I might have strategically placed that book there for y'all to see?

Wow! What a read this has been for a newbie to this Forum.

Gary, My hat is off to you! As others have said here, your hands are gifted. As a Aircraft Armament Systems Technician for almost 20 years, I can really appreciate all the work your group does to maintain and restore these birds.

The few years of part time work that I had in Geneseo pale in any comparison that I've seen here. I can only hope that once I have the extra time in my life, that I'll have the opportunity to do some work like this once again.

Thanks ever so much!

Chris

As Sherlock Holmes might have said. "Look at the evidence Watson" !

I think we may deduce that it's not going to be a RAF Coastal Command scheme

Happy Friday Gary !

Well, I reckon everyone will just have to be here on May 12, for our Gathering of Twin Tails Fly-in, to see the "unveiling" of Ol' 927 then, huh?

Hey Gary - how much is it worth not to have me post a picture of the other table in your office? :D

If you need the Monogram books mentioned above, I have them in my library. Just let me know. See you tomorrow - we'll be at the HSW hangar working on planes as usual. Hopefully the weather and temps will let us get some paint stripping done for you, too.

Randy

Okay, okay....Randy busted me. Sorry y'all, but I sort of mislead everyone into thinking that I had actually finished cleaning up my desk. While the desk was indeed cleaned off, the other table in my office sort of became the place where all of my crap went (oh, and yes, the little tent is for the hangar cats to sleep in)...........

I might as well also fess up to not having much of an update for y'all today. I haven't really gotten too much accomplished on the airplane, but have been spending most of the week in the office taking care of other issues. Finding parts, taking care of paperwork, and preparing some documents to be mailed out, have taken pretty much all of my "fun time" with the airplane away from me. There is currently very little volunteer help, but that's supposed to pick back up soon. I will hope to get y'all a more exciting update soon.

Gary

So Gary...I thought this might be where you sleep when you pull an all nighter at the hanger. :P
