I fly a Proctor MkV as well as a MkI.
After being involved with the restoration (the company I work for specialises in this type of restoration) of the MkI I would say that it is quite a complex structure and definately not a restoration to be taken lightly.
As to the flying characteristics, the MkV is not a particularly stunning performer (especially at MAUW) and climbs fairly poorly, uses a good amount of runway for both T/O and Landing. In the air it is much better and makes a good touring aircraft.
Shame its not a MkI or MKII (Vega would be even better) as the are much better aircraft.

If there are people out there who study the Percival Proctor, does that mean they're called "Proctor-ologists"?

I was not sure what a Proctor was..so Google came up with answers...cute little airplane..including this little page...interesting about the impound situation of this aircraft. naughty naughty..hehe
