Oh man, those break my heart... I hate seeing my favorite plane in that condition. I want to go hug a wing of it.

Well now I really want to go hug a wing of it! Yay! Thank you for sharing the pictures. I've never seen a Corsair painted like that, I like it. :) Thanks again!!

I remember the first time I saw it was at the 2003 Dayton Air Show. At that point I was just then really getting into warbirds. I had no idea what a F2G Corsair was--I had never heard of it. Instead, I was upset that some people had "messed up" a perfectly good corsair by painting it like that and everything. In fact, I was a little disgusted by it. It wasn't until I got home and did research on it, did I realize the error of my ways. I then realized that I should have been more like this.... :prayer: :f4u:

I have not seen it since. I really want to, so that I may really appreciate it this time!

And even sweeter to see it back on a course at Reno this past year. Even tho he broke, it was nice to see it compete, No.57 competing on the 57th anniversary of it's last competition.
As part of the filming of the Thunder over reno movie. it was towed thru downtown Reno along with Rare bear, Cloud Dancer, Miss America and Precious Metal after the pylon school in june, and we got the pleasure of watching that same group fly around every evening for a week!
It got more than a hug, it got a lot of good lovin'.
