What the hell - 4 seater Mustang?

Sun Jan 14, 2007 7:52 am

CAC Mustang A68-175 seen here during 1964. This aircraft was retired in 1959 and looks a bit neglected after a few years in storage. Later, this airframe was converted to carry four (!) seats. Part of this aircraft later were used in another rebuild project in the. U.S., but A68-175 itself also was rebuilt to flying condition and is airworthy today.

That's what NAA and Ryan want you to think, at least.

I wonder how a Merlin-powered taildragger Navion would work out.

The four place Mustang makes a lot of sense. To the wife, "Honey you're right, I'm selling the T-whatever to buy a sensible family airplane!"
It would be popular with many current P-51 owners. The wife could ride way in the back, the mistress in front of her, and the seat behind the pilot could be reserved for "that cute little thing" he just hired at the office!

Is it too late for Hugh Hefner to use his WW II V.A. benefits to get his pilot's license?.. He needs the "minivan" Mustang for his 3 girlfriends, :) :D too.

Or you can do like the guy back in the 1960s. Load your wife and three kids with you in the 51, take the a/c up to 20000 ft without oxygen, and dive into the ground!
