WOW! Is that the only time they ever did that with a Panther? I cant imagine there would have been too many opportunities.

I had to pause on the overhead to ID the Panther. Had the four others but couldn't get a good look at the fifth. WAAYY COOL!

You just had to do that didn't you Brandon? My little heart was doin' about 180. And it ended just about the time I was going to learn to take off.

Man, that takes me back!
Not only was I there, I think I may be the guy in the light blue hat in one shot. Unfortunately that was the summer I got divorced, and I managed to lose all the pics I shot at the show.
I believe that was the largest "Cat Flight" the Air Zoo ever assembled. It was alway wild watching Capt. Dale "Snort" Snodgrass hanging the Tomcat on the edge of a stall, while Pete Parrish had that poor Wildcat nose down with the engine firewalled.
Of course, the Air Zoo's cats no longer fly, the Tomcat has been retired, and the Panther was nearly demolished in a crash in '96.

That was just g**darn beautiful. Oh, how I wish I could have seen this... and boy, do I miss the Tomcat.

I remembering seeing this at Willow Grove during the very early 90s-late 80s....think i still have the program from that year. Don't remeber if a panther was in there....but it was a sight to see...even if it was like 12!

That footage is from the P-38 documentary which was on the Wings series (Discovery Channel?). Get the tape, learn it by heart, and the US based operators will probarbly let you fly it...
Or quite possibly lock it in out of fear you might take it for a spin!
