Wade, those Aeroshell boys can fly! I ran into them once skiing at Vail. I know Alan and sort of know Mark from airshows. I saw Alan once land a Mustang at Leeward Air Ranch 3 point and use about half the runway most of the other guys were using.

I have always considered it an honor and an privlege to ride or fly in any Warbird whether as a invited guest or as a Sponsor for an aircraft, and yes I have no problen signing a waiver to have the privlege to fly in a vintage warbird. Now for what I have flown in over a 25 year time frame.

SNJ, N2S, and PT-23 during the late '90s while volunteering at the Kamalazoo Air Zoo.
Red Baron "Super Stearman" in 2000 (as a reporter)
B-17G "Fuddy Duddy" in 2004 & 2005 (again, as a reporter)
C-47 "Yankee Doodle Dandy" in 2005 (took one of the Yankee Air museum's "day trips" from Willow Run to the Air Force Museum..a real bargain and highly recommended!)

While not warbirds, I have managed to fly on three Ford Tri-Motors over the years. My first airpline ride ever was in the old Island Airlines 4-AT N7584 (currently under long term restoration for Kermit Weeks.) I've also flown at least a dozen times on the Kalamazoo Air Zoo's 5-AT (also currently under rebuild) and took a hop on the EAA's 4-AT.

Too many lightplanes to keep track of (including a dozen or so hours of instruction in a Piper Traumahawk) a couple of ultralights, and a couple of commercial trips (A320, 737, and MD-80.)

As Forest Gump's freind Bubba would say, "that's about it."

Not too many on a yearly basis but with the passage of time the list has built up. There have been some really magnificent flights, some that you would almost have to pinch yourself that you were not dreaming, and all thanks to the generosity of the enthusiastic owners of these wonderful machines.

As I checked through my log over nearly 40 years it was really quite sad to see the number of pilots and friends that I had flown with who are no longer with us, most lost in Warbird crashes. RIP.
