Question - Texas Locator

I was looking at the Locator and saw that in Lubbock, TX is lists Reese AFB (former) with a T-33. I know that a T-33 from Reese was put on a pole outside the Discovery Science Center on the south side of Lubbock.

Does anyone know what happend to the B-25 gate guard, T-28 and other planes that were near the enty gate?

The airplane on a pole at the Science Spectrum in Lubbock is a T-38

The T-33 and B-25 at the former base are long gone...Dunno where to.

I don't know about the T-33 but I think this the B-25 you are asking about.

WD 4 lists the T-28A as 49-1679

I helped with the restoration of the B-25 at Fredericksburg, the hardest thing for them to do is remove the concrete from inside the plane that the Air Farce had poured into it to keep it from blowing away in west Texas winds.

I'm going to Fredericksburg this weekend... I didn't know that was the Reese bird...Sure looks good on the carrier deck...too bad they can't ever get the danged engine to start... :wink:

Just to clarify, everyone agrees the T-33 was removed from Reese? Even though it was in the Google Earth/Maps image, those images can be 2 or 3 years old.

Mike, down in Del Rio at the front gate of Laughlin AFB there is a lineup of aircraft that have served at the base. They include T-33,T-28,T-38, U2C.

The U2s launched out of Laughlin to fly their missions during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Found them. I have created a new entry. Site A is the line-up you indicated. There are also two more much further into the base.

The T-28 is now at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo in a mini-park.
