This makes sense, but what manual is it in. I have several pilot manuals and training guides, but can't find it.

Here is a reminder of better days. It is a pic from my website that I thought would cheer you up. Left to right and back to front we have "Super Rabbit," "Heavenly Body," "Sunday Punch," "Axis Nightmare," "Betty's Dream," "Apache Princess," "Guardian of Freedom," and "Miss Mitchell."

Valdez, look in the pilot's manual. I believe it's in the section dealing with tie down procedures for heavy weather. Been a while since I've looked at it.

Which one is Miss Mitchell? I don't see her in there...

In the rear with the gear!.
This must have been during the form-up for the airshow. During the
flight up the coast and through SF bay were were in the lead flight with Bill Klaers and Lynn Hunt. It was so cool sitting in the tail and seeing all those 25s following behind!.

Jack, sorry to see the B-25 get knicked up......*&^(% hanger incidents will drive anyone nuts...... Great picture(s) of the B-25 formation, reminds me of BKD in 1985..... Can't wait to see all six of the CAF B-25's in (whoops, 5 B-25's and 1 PBJ) formation....... Alan

It is a great picture and I wish I could take credit for it, but that was taken by my friend and great aviation photographer/videographer Anthony Lewis as you noticed. I think that he was in the tail of the B-25J "Martha Jean" which was in the first element with "Pacific Princess" which had O'Leary in the tail taking pictures for Challenge Publications and then had Klaers leading with "In the Mood." I was tucked away in the tail of "Apache Princess."



Jack, the coolest part of the whole flight that day for me was when we were over Millerton Lake forming. All of the B-25s were going in a circular pattern around the lake forming up and jockeying into position. At any one time I could see a half dozen B-25s out the waist gunner window of "Apache Princess." It made my body tingle just thinking about what a once in a lifetime experience it was to be for someone born in 1978 to be in a formation of 12 Mitchell's.

Once we got into formation we we were getting a lot of wash since we were near the back of the formation. The back of Kermit's bird is filled with gear and while crawling down the from the waist to the tail I slammed my head on an ammo belt bracket because we were bouncing so much. I couldn't help but wonder how many young guys did that exact same thing back in the day lol. It was a great time.
