I am actually getting ready to leave Vancouver this year, moving to Houston,
Voluntarily???
Have you been here in the summer? 
Just kidding, I see you plan on the LSFM show, I'll be volunteering so might run into you.

Wow!, well we'll have to see what 2007 brings. At this time last year I had
NO hope and NO plans but ended up crewing LSFM "B-17 Thunderbird" to the Muskegan "Airfare" and then across the lake to Oshkosh "AirVenture 07"... So to all the volunteers out there, keep twisting those wrenches and cleaning oil and doing the grunt work and who knows...It was a "REAL" deposite in the memory bank for 06 and many thanks to the LSFM museum.

I'm really excited to move! Texas will be insane - heat wise - but I think it will be a great opportunity.

Texas is not insane heat wise - at least to this Texan. Besides, with that heat comes tons of good flying weather, even in winter. Pity our poor Yankee and Canuk friends...

I guess,
Went over to LVK, hung out. Got to see some cool stuff. Talk to some very cool people. Learn some very cool things.
Took off from Livermoore, talked to Moffett, went over to Half Moon Bay. God (AKA,Dan), let me land the airplane. I am totally cool. Big crosswind. Doing spacing manuvers to...space...out from the 172 buddies. S turns on short, the resturant and boat folks, well, they know I'm super cool now too.
(For those who have been there, I was long(Had to), about 3/4 of a mile beyond the stone wall at 600 feet.....I'll leave the rest to your imagination(Lots "O" throttle(sinks like a mother******!))
Had some nice chow, eggie wegs and taters. Time to go get some gas.
We went over to Marina, Fort Ord. Down the coast, beautiful. We got over there and some cat is talking about his meat bombs being around the southeast end of the airport. No Sh1t! They were there alright. I have never seen them that close before. If you were on a left downwind you would have had pizza meat ready for you when you landed.
Gassed up. Met some cool dudes for down south. It looks like they are building some CJ's in Marina too.
Went back to LVK. Nice ride. Tower called a 2K floor. When I got over, I told Dan I couldn't see the runway anymore. I couldn't. So he took it in.
Well, thats two backseat landings for me. For those, like me, who are 172 pilots, or whatever, here is what I got to say......
The plane stops when you apply backpressure. Completely stops. So, if you are like me, you will flare at 35 feet+ above the runway. Just fly it down. I didn't really know what that meant, until I did my first landing in a T28.
The plane works like an airplane. Pull back, and it stops right there.
Don't go under 100 kts. Just don't do it. I don't know why, but I have a big fear of that. Cross the berm at 100kt's. Just do it. Stick that speed. Being there with it all hanging out, ain't cool, especially when you are slowing down.
So.....That is my first flight of 2007......

All I need is a 12v power source in the radio room and one of those fancy 3G wireless cards that Sprint and Verizon are advertising now and we'd be all set. The world's first internet-enabled B-17!
B-17G's came pre-loaded with Windows XP, right?

Been done now! Took L-2M N87787 up for a 1.4 hr flight on Saturday. Had a good crosswind and a strong breeze, but enjoyed a clear blue sky, and dropping a tiny homemade parachute with a message to some good friends for fun.
