Sorry Scott, but I am going to repost some of what I said before. BDK makes a good point above. Having the updates and knowing the progress on a restoration is really a big deal. Especially challenging projects like Gary has where little evidence remains. Hopefully others will start threads and keep us up to date on progress of their projects. I think that after we get some air under Lil's wings again, we should see what John B. can give us for a project to help Red Tail get back in the air. Any others who want us to be a part of their project, chime in, and let us know what it is all about, and how the money can help!

Thanks Tim
I already subscribe to Warbird Digest and love it, but I am missing the first five issues. Any back issues laying around?

Scott ...
I'd like to add to Tim's incentive ... the CAF First Observation Detachment (we produce the CAF Airsho videos, advertised in the banner ad at the top of this page) will send a CAF Airsho DVD to the same folks.

Made payment through Paypal yesterday, not sure which gun I got in for. Thanks for all the updates, sorry my contribution couldn't have been bigger, guess I'm just one of the "little guns".
But hey, every little bit helps, I believe the gunship version of the B-24 ended up with 14 guns or more, sounds like a record to try and beat........

WOW! I was just absolutely floored when I came in to check on WIX this morning. Y'all are amazing! I cannot tell you all how much we appreciate everyone pitching in to help us put the guns back on this ol' Liberator.
I appreciate every single donation made. From the $25 ones to the $900 ones, from Tim's offer of magazine subscriptions, to Paul's offer of DVD's. I don't know what else to say. Your generosity has been more than I would've ever expected. Thank you!

Well the way it looks, the WIXer's can call the two waist gunner's guns and the bombardier's gun "theirs." I had to give the two folks that put up the entire amount of money for one gun each first dibs on where they wanted the gun that they purchased. Paul from the CAF First Observation Detachment wanted the tailgunner's gun to be theirs and Taylor Stevenson asked for the tunnel gun to be his.
This leaves the other three positions for the WIXers. I will make up some nice data plates that will have everyone's name that has donated money for the cause on them so that everyone will see that this has been a team effort from Warbird enthusiasts all over the globe!
At the time of this posting, we've almost raised enough money for that third gun. I cannot say enough how much I, and the rest of the B-29/B-24 Squadron appreciate all of the donors that have pitched in and how quickly it's been done.
Thank you all again,
Gary Austin
