Jeff Harris of Allied Fighters sent me these photos to share with you. The ground shots were taken at the time of the first flight. The air-to-air shots were just taken the other day by Larry Rector with Jeff flying the Stang. The photo ship was a AT-6 flown by Stevo Hinton.
Jeff's dad flew in the 356th Fs so markings of that squadron are a clear possibility. Frank O'Connor's AJ+O s/n 44-14016 "Verna Q"/"Lois From St. Louis" is the front runner.

Is that the B-50 "Lucky Lady II" in the background? It almost looks like it is standing on it's own now...am I seeing things? Is there finally some activity on that bird?

Nice photos everyone. Is that the former Robb Satterfield 'Miss Torque'?

Now that's polished metal finish!

HArd to tell, but the wing is actually painted silver.

Yes, B-50 in the background, but the display is similar to the way it was before. It is held up on a trestle. The center section spar was cut for a walk-through by the USAF many years ago. POF has the remains of a KC-97 to make it look like an airplane again someday, but it will likely never be more than a static display.

Wow! Stunning! A Mustang looks so good from every angle, especially in that highly polished finish! It's becoming apparent I need to buy a second home near Chino!
