RCAF Memorial Museum Addition

I have posted some pictures from today's visit to the RCAF Memorial Museum. The steel structure for the addition is up and it looks like they will be working now to close the new building in.

Labrador 113315 is now a part of the museum's airpark.

The Halifax restoration is coming along very nicely too! It will be nice to see NA337 in her new home in the near future.

Is the Airpark at the Museum still open to public or has the construction limited access to the aircraft outside..

I was there a month or so ago and they made a pathway behind the museum so visitors could get into the airpark.

So re-assembly of NA337 is getting nearer and nearer. Would be great sight to se here finally in one piece.

While we are on the subgect of the RCAF musem this Sat Sept 25
there is a dedication ceremony for for the AdAStra stones which they use as a fundraiser. Great chance to see the musuem and pay respect to our veterns.
Maybe some have former friends or family that they would like to
honour with a stone.

Eric,

Is the Yukon a done deal? I knew they had the plane, but there was some question of if funding was available for the move. Has this been sorted out?

Wouldn't it look great sitting next to the Argus!

It was anounced today at the Ad Astra cermony that the Halifax will be moved out of it's current location to "the outside"' Oct 16
Ipresume they will be moving it into the new addition area so they can install the outboard wings
The south wall and roof are just about complete on the structure but they have yet to pour a floor

At the dedication they said the 16 but it would be a good idea to call them
Their number is on their web site i think

I was there on Saturday the 9th and they were still planning on the 16th for the move.
