Geez Steph....7 tattoos!......you put my 4 to shame. Just be careful if you get any down your arms where they can be seen while wearing a short-sleeved shirt. Try to be as conservative as possible because you never know when you'll be applying for that $100,000 manager's position some day. I knew quite a few Army buddies that had tattooos of naked chicks, skulls w/daggers through them, etc that probably have wonderful careers at Burger King now. Don't get me wrong...I love tattoos myself and feel that they are much more acceptable these days. However, there are still a lot of up-tight conservative managers and employers out there that still try to judge people's character by the type and amount of "body art" they have. (enough preaching...SORRY)

John

You're not preaching, and if you are . . . well it's just sage advice. That's the other reason I haven't done anything more at this point. All of mine, as it stands, can be completely covered and no one would be the wiser. They're mostly on my back and the back of my neck so its easily taken care of. Something on my arms, etc., would be much more difficult and I don't think I am ready to commit to such a big tattoo until after I land a flying job, etc. :D So, anything else will have to wait a while!

I appreciate your input . . . the job market is tricky enough these days without basically shooting myself in the foot with a tattoo!

Steph,

Since you're a tattoo fanatic, I thought I'd show ya the latest tattoo/hood ornament on my carcass (just north of the unicorn tatt). It wasn't a damper on my VCR repair or aviation career (every airline pilot needs a "plan B" career on the side).

I used to fear needles but I got over it, though I don't suggest my method. When I was on chemo I stopped counting at 100 seperate needle sticks and that was in the first round, I had three rounds of chemo and much more poking tests. After awhile you don't care too much. :)

I don't fear the needles so much anymore, but you're right -- chemo isn't the method! My issue is just the "sag factor" that happens with age! You can only fight it for so long!

Wow, that's one way to go about it... I am sure members that have been here longer know more about it, but my hat is off to you for going through all of that... wow. All my best to you.

You're the biggest nerd, ever! :D I love it! Do you think you could draw me a Corsair for a tattoo? The same childlike artwork would be perfect! I will get it south of my (our) matching unicorn tattoos! LOL, what a geek!

2007 will be the year of my first tattoo, It will be to comemorate 5 years since the cancer diagnosis. I will probably get two though, one to mark the 10th anniversary of the WRG, which we reached last march.

Way to fight tough Scott--I hope and pray for your good health! And congrats on 10 yrs of WRG, it's a first-class site in spite of the efforts of certain troublemakers and smart-talking broads to drag it into the gutter!

It IS a 1st class site, Scott -- and contrary to popular belief, the "broads" are only trying to liven things up, not to drag it into the gutter........
