Lyndon was know(not acurately) for civil rights. What this translated to in a practical way was if dead people could vote for Daley in Chicago, they sure as hell could vote for LBJ in south Texas! Has anyone seen the excellent PBS tv special THE PATH TO WAR, about the Johnson govt and the Vietnam War? Alec Baldwin looks just like Mcnamara and Donald Sutherland is great as Clark Clifford. I don't know the actor who is LBJ, but he captured both his political savvy and personal crudeness.
