This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I took a road trip to Geneseo this weekend for the 1941 HAG Corn Roast. It was a pretty low-key event, with a lot of the museum members in attendance. No warbirds were flying, but the weather was perfect and Austin was giving rides in the Antinov to anyone who wanted to go.
Memphis Belle arrived on Friday, and the number two engine was removed for repair. Mike Potter's Spitfire is still in the hanger with the spinner and prop removed. A new prop is being made by a company in England. Austin's Harvard is nearing completion, and should begin testing in about a month.
I already booked my room for next year's airshow.

Pat,
Are they still working on the ex-NWM AN-2 as well?
I've got to get back to Geneseo next year!

I couldn't make it this year, maybe next.
The BBQ after the airshow sounds like it was very similar. A really good time.

At the show in July it was taxying out to the runway. From what I understand on of the wheels sank in the soft ground (much rain in the previous weeks) and the props struck.
Such a shame, but it sounds like it is on it's way to being fixed.
Regards,
Mike

Jim,
Someone mentioned that there was another AN-2 in the hangar near the driveway, but I didn't see it.
The field is still very wet. They had photo's of the B-17 landing on Friday, and he touched down short of the runway throwing up a cloud of water.
You can't beat Geneseo for the beautiful setting, and the friendliest group of people you will ever meet. There was also a pair of L-birds buzzing the hangar while we were eating the chicken.
The airshow is the second weekend in July.
