This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Go to the Discussion Board at
www.Hyperscale.com and there is a post by Mark Beckwith that appears to be a photo of Russell's Spit and the CWH Lanc. I guess this was a private event?
Also, some -109 photos.

The event was the Battle of Britain parade hosted by Mr.& Mrs. Russelle
Members of the 8 air cadet squadrons in the Niagara area as well as the 3
Airfoce assc wings were on parade to honour our veterens.
The pilot of the Spit was John Romain and the event featured ww2 vehicles from the US and the Spitfire Band
The engine of the 109 was run up a few times for those attending
and a dinner dance was held afterward

There are now some videos of the event posted to the hyperscale forum...

Am I being completely daft? Can anyone else find the photo or video?

Go to the forum and find the "Things you don't see every day" posting. You'll have to scroll down a bit to get there. Part 1 is 6 or 7 pages back. Part 2 is on the first page at present.

Thanks, found them now. Is it just me, or is the sound of the turbo not nearly as pronounced as on the Bf-109G?

Very nice indeed, but how can you get the CWH to send it's Lanc to your private party?
Do they have packages for that, like the CHAA has for their Harvards?
I'm just curious...

Not sure, but you can fly in the Lanc for about $600....

Daz, don't you find that this Messerschmitt of his lacks something important??

Price gone down has it, Daz? Last time I heard, it was nearer $1,500 (that's about 600 of your Scottish pounds!
