In contrast to the Russian groundbound and snow covered MIG-21 I think this P-38 is a little perdier!

There was a painting i came across one time online, showing a ground crewman sweeping the snow off a 38. The view was from behind, and it was about as peaceful a scene as I've seen around a combat plane. You could feel the quiet.

Always wanted to find it again with no luck.

Great pic as always Jack. I've seen some of 54th FS 38s over the snow. That doesn't look like one of theirs. Any background on it?
