Pete, thanks for sharing them. The trip to the work shop is worth it. They told us that the L-1 was used in the filiming of the Great Waldo Pepper. What did they fly that day??

Hello Lynn,

Kermit flew the Duck that day. But whats great is he doesn't just show up fly then leave, he plugs in a mic and gives a talk about the plane, whats up with the museum and answers questions. It makes the visit a great experience.

I think they mentioned that the L1 was the camera ship for WP. They did show a clip from a movie from the 40's that featured flying by Paul Mantz IIRC and showed what the L1 could really do. Short Short field take off/landing, flew thru a hangar etc.... I dont remember the name of the movie but it stared Van Johnson.
