Re: Was the MT-64/ARC-5 Receiver shock mount only used on Navy planes?

Does anyone know if the MT-64 shock mount for the ARC-5 receiver was used on planes outside the Navy? Was the MT-64 only a manufacturer for the Navy or was the shock mount used on AAF planes such as a B-24? Please see the attached picture. I'm trying to figure out if the attached tag could only be from a Navy plane or if it could have been found on an AAF plane.

To the best of my knowledge, the ARC-5 series of command set gear was used only by the Navy. The AAF used similar command set gear, but they called their series SCR-274N. The two types looked and acted virtually the same, but they were not "plug and play" interchangeable due to connectorization differences. I've compared the USN T-22/ARC-5 and USAAF BC-459-A (SCR-274N) command set 7-9.1 mc transmitters side by side, and they have some electrical differences between them.

If someone else knows for a fact that I'm wrong, please correct me.

I think you are spot on. The ARC-5 and the SCR-274N are commonly thought to be the same set and do look very similar, but are different sets and are not interchangeable.
