This is a picture of the later type of carrier you will find fitted to many current airworthy D model P-51's. Both this and the earlier type you have are made in the USA. The Fighter Collection's razor-back P-51 has fitted examples of the early type carrier.

Here is an example ( link ) of my bomb shackle under the starboard wing of a P-51A-10NA. The shackles are able to carry a bomb of up to 500 lbs. weight or external fuel tanks. :

But I what I like to know is : the RAF blue color, does this means that it is used by a P-51 from the RAF .. ??
