I was sitting with my truck pointing in the other direction looking at the aproach end of the runway with my LONG LENSE on the camara when I happened to turn my head just in time for the Huey. That was as far as I could back off my lens and then MY truck got in the way. I hate to say this, but, I JUST WASN"T EXPECTING ANY AIRPLANES TO BE ON THE ROAD! :oops: :wink: You know, first I had to learn to CARRY A CAMERA AT ALL TIMES! Now I have to learn to look in my mirrors and everywhere else! :shock: I must be INSANE to follow this HOBBY(Obsession-if airplanes were women I'd be in jail!? :shock: :shock: )Anybody have any suggestions??(silent plea for help!) :cry:
As to your question, oscar, no, unfortunately I didn't get a tail #. I do try to get them in the photos when I can(Another lesson learned :? )

That black Citation with the red band around the vertical was passing through on its way from Israel to our facility for heavy maintenance. It's still in our shop.

The Waco is the ride airplane from BHB right?
That guy was a character, I would have loved to hear the conversation between him and the COL!

Ken, that tail-less wonder would be a Caravan on floats. I think it belongs to Telford Aviation from the color. And I.m not sure about the conversation between the Waco(BHB) owner and the Col. The shack was too small and it was too hot out for me to try and squeeze into. I will say they chatted for a very long time!

What's with the Chipmunk, is it local ? Don't think I've ever seen one in a Sea Fury paint job. Looks like a case of delusions of granduer !

Wonder what a Spartan is doing way up in Maine. I thought the State Dept. had all in country when they pulled the ex USAF aircraft out of the desert to use down south.

Curious to see an RAF VC-10 and E-3D there... just passing through? Looks like the VC-10 was undergoing an engine change too.... How long were they there?

The Chipmonk, I just found out, is a local bird, located about thirty miles from here. The Spartan, looks to be Israeli, after looking at the original photo(faint markings on the tail-looks like a Star of David). The VC-10 and E-3D, RAF, RN, Belgain AF, German AF, Spanish AF, Canadian AF and Israeli AF have all been known to pass through here. The Britts, Germans, Belgains and Israelis are quite frequent visiters. The VC-10 was here for about a month and three engine changes! Seems the first engine failed before they could get it back in the air and the second engine ran fine on the ground, but, after launch they had to turn around as the viberations were so bad the crew was afraid the engine would shake off!


PS I think the Britts and Israelis don't like me very much! Something about too many candids! Of course, if they would just look at the old, delapitated camera equipment I use, and the less then steller quality of my work, they would probably laugh their arses off! Or just shoot me and put me out of my warbird misery!
