Hi Lynn

Well I'm toying with flying down there to build some more xcountry time, but it probably will
be quite weather dependent at this point. Just got weathered out trying to get down to middlesboro this past weekend and got hit with fog saturday morning over lower IN and KY.
sigh. Had to turn away. I'd be heading down from waukesha WI. (UES), its a bit of a
trip, but I can use the hours to build time. If I can swing it, I'd love to catch up with you.

Roger That,

The wx in Midland is anyboby's guess. Maybe low clouds in the morning that burn away. I plan on a IFR trip to get me out of the Dallas area and you can get better handling doing the IFR thing on arrival. I'm planning on staying overnight. The steaks are great in Midland.
Having Franics moving through the area I'm sure didn't help either.

See Ya

I really, really wish I was Lynn. Unfortunately, I too will be stuck up here in Wisconsin. I've burned up all of my vacation seeing airshows in Michigan, Minnesota, Tennessee, (and of course Wisconsin) this year, but maybe next year.

Keep us posted on everything that happens, and who shows up, etc.

Steve

I am thinking about bringing my T-6 on Friday through Sunday. I have never been to Midland. What is the accomodation situation like if you are making plans this late?

I'd like to go if I can find a way... cheap that is. I'm trying to finish my Private Pilots license, so I'm on a really tight budget.

Rob, where are you flying in from? You might try and call the CAF and see what they can do for you. Finding a hotel is not a problem, telling everyone know you have one, is...........................

Cheers,

Lynn

I'll be coming from southern AZ. I'll give them a call - was just wondering if anyone had any hot tips on where to stay. Glad to hear it isn't a problem. Assuming I make it, look me up. My T-6 is in SAAF scheme - #7684.

Rob, there are many hotels in the area, so its how much you want to spend and where the party's are. Like me, I always want to add to the starwood points. Let me know if you can't find a place. I brought a C-150 back from KCHD a few weeks ago and over nigted in Midland. We go into KSDL a lot.

Have a safe trip,

Lynn

Rob:
I'm the Airsho Chairman...we can give you some gas...not much but some is better than none. Call CAF OPS for info about motel rooms, etc.
Ask for Eric.
