If there's a bird I like as much as the P-40 it's the P-61... great shots Martin!

This was a general's hack, thus the natural metal finish; note the odd shape of the national insignia.

This is an image which can be found on the USAF website. The original is quite large, so I've reduced it to 2000 pixels in width and cleaned it up a tad.

here some more pictures of P-61B "Lady in the Dark" .

This plane was the example which I build as a RC modelplane from scratch and own plan. (3000 hours, including Plan, building Model, constructing own electric retracts, mouldings for cowls- canopies etc.)
Scale: 1 : 6,6. Span: 122" (3,10m). Weight: 42 lbs (18,5 kg). Engines: 2x 2.40 (40cm3) V-twin four stroke.
Winner of 10 International RC Scale contests all over europe, 2x European RC Scale Champion Star Cup.

If anybody's interested, NASM/Udver-Hazy has finished their P-61 and it's on display. It's the turbocharged model, and I believe it was used for weather research. Original all-black finish still on it.
