That is correct, mostly in muddy and snow bound conditions, which wouldn't apply in the Med theatre.

some times.... but not usually. i find this wreck as kind of a freak stuka!! :? :shock:

Like Dan said, sometimes they were removed. Especially in the Russian theater to help fix problems with mud buildup. Also I thing the Gustav'sremoved them for aerodynamics.
