This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Bill, are you bringing the Spit, or are you just coming as a pedestrian?

Gary, do you mean it is not my tall, handsome self; my quick wit, erudite, mind; regal bearing; noble heritage or skilled mechanical ability, that you are inquiring about? The Spitfire had all landing gear removed, parts sent out to be x-rayd, etc. and some new bolts and fittings made. So it is now being reassembled at about the same cost as building the Great Pyramids, and only slightly qiucker. Wouldn't it be great if Jiffy Lube or Earl Schieb did Warbirds. I think the delay may have been that they were making the bolts out of Moonrock alloy, ran short and have arranged for a new batch to be sent down. So I am likely coming in a Bonanza. The good news is I can watch the football game at 2:30 and not conflict with flying in the show Sat. Thanks, I'll look for you there. If there's anything volunteer wise needed let me know.

No Bill, it's the challenge of trying to decipher what it is that you have typed that's what I like. It's almost like I need an enigma machine. Ewe nowe wut I meen?
Look forward to seeing you here.

Or just come on by if you want some up close and personal pics of the airplanes.
I love this time of year!

Ahhhh. I was wondering later about that. 20 mins after the Tora went by,
a T-6 looking like the CF bird went up west shore... another 25 mins
goes by and what appeared to be Tondelayo went upshore and broke left
toward Elli. Busy day!! Heard what sounded like the P-3 that's been around
lately, going toward same. Whassup with the P-3? Thanks Rick!
Sorry guys..back to Airsho 2006...

The P-51 Mustang: The rides in the P-51 are endless, you can have the straight and level flight, do a few aerobatics, or fly inverted the entire time in the P-51, this one is most popular. The rides are 20 min in the air for 825 dollars, 30 min for 1,000 dollars or an hour for 2,000 dollars.
We are 501 C3; so 75% of the money that is paid to the Dixie Wing is tax-deductible. You can take the ride in Peachtree City basically anytime you want or at an airshow that our aircraft are attending. Unfortunately for insurance reasons you have to be thirteen years old to ride. You can also look at us on line at
www.dixiewing.org. If you have any questions please call me on my cell 770-262-5685.
See yall in Midland. We should be there by about 2pm today.

Sounds like a great show is in the works. Safe flying to all, wish I could be there........someday. Less than 4 years until retirement and then I will see North America the way it was meant to be seen, one airshow at a time.

The SBD ride is WELL worth it, I did it 3 years ago in Midland and had a blast, I sat backwards holding onto the guns. I may have to go to Peachtree and fly in her again.

Airnutz, it wasn't Tondelayo. It was Special Delivery. Tondelayo is on the east coast and will be at Dulles Intl with the Corsair and Skyhawk for Dulles Day (Dulles Open House ) on Saturday.
P-3 belongs to NOAA. Don't know what they are looking for. They've been flying out of Ellington.

I will arrive on Thursday morning and leave after the show on Sunday. I usually hang out on the fighter ramp or in the big hangar.
Looks like the temperatures are going to be fair and not blazing hot. I hope the rain clouds stay away on Sunday.
Be sure to say hi if you see me.

The Sea Fury arrived yesterday.... looks great. Doug Jeanes brought the OV-1, Bell 47, and the P-40. Also arriving was the Me-108! She was in a very dark blue paint scheme with red banded swastika on the tail. Yes she has the Argus engine.... will try to get pics to someone who can post.... Met with P Beegle the other day.... they are busy selling P-51 and C-45 rides.... Alan
