I'm going to try and convince the wife into going this weekend (she wears the pants in the family). Do you know of any other warbirds that'll be there besides what's already listed on their website? What kind of turnout do they typically have for this airshow?

It seems to be a fairly quiet year in terms of warbird turnouts, but I'll be happy if that P-51A can make it.

The real strength of the WOTN airshow is the amount of guests they bring in...with lots of WWII pilots. They hold several symposiums throughout the day, so you can hear the stories that many of these pilots have to share. For that alone, this show is a great one. In a few more years, there will hardly be anyone left to tell the stories.

This will be my first visit to this one...I just moved back a year or so ago to Minnesota from Omaha, Nebraska. So I am a newbie at this one.

This looks like a fairly typical line-up for Air Expo. Unless plans have changes, the F-86H should be on display during the show.

The F-86 has been sitting there since last year's show. Everytime I drive by Flying Cloud airport, I catch a glimpse of it from the highway. So unless they moved it very recently, it should still be there.

Wings Over North is worth going to if you are near sw Minneapolis. The strenght is dozens of veterans who sell books, give numerous seminars, and are even available to chat with. I got to hear George Mcgovern, who was not only the Sen. who ran against Nixon and had the intregity to say the Vietnam War was wrong, but was also a decorated B-24 combat veteran. He spoke more like a ministers son about the human side of war than the flying. There are plenty of heroes like Tex Hill, and what's unusual is there are vets from all services, even French, German. Before the minisub was found, a USS Ward crew told me they put a shell through the conning tower and the sub was nearer shore, just as proved to be true. Where else do you meet a survivor of Bismark or a lady who at 13 was a messenger for the resistance? There are enough warbirds to see, some do rides, but no waiver, so no acro. Management is friendly, they hangared my plane and even washed it! If you drive go early as parking can be tight.

Hi Bryan didnt know a new ramp rat was on its way congrats!!I will be there both days ,the BT-15 will be on display its starting to take shape.I will have a few updated photos of the A25 and should be at my booth ansering the endless steam of questions Its always a good show with lots of interesting folks,great displays,and warbirds!!See you there Thanks Mike

I'll be out at show as well. I've been having a few issues with my back for the last week or two so I'm not sure if I'll be working the flightline as usual or holding down a chair at the RTP booth! Either way, if you go to the show be sure to stop by the Red Tail Project booth and say hi. If I'm there I'll give you an update on our progress.

What is that green stuff under the F-86? It hasn't rained in central south Texas for over 4 months so were begging to forget what grass looks like. One good thing I have only mowed my grass one time this year.
