As promised... here are pictures of the aircraft remaining at the Pate Museum near Ft. Worth, TX ... As of noon 8/16/06

They are in sad shape after many years outside with minimum upkeep. They have moved the Apollo capsule inside...

Rick,

That is all that is left.
When I asked what about the missing airplanes, the "gentleman" at the front door said "the Air Force took them...all airplanes belong to the Air Force"

That's interesting since the T-28 they had was a Navy plane. The VooDoo is in Canadian colors because the aircraft was donated by the Canadian Air Force ! I was there shortly after the Canadian paint was redone. They told me they duplicated its original paint scheme.

Like I said...the guy tried to argue with me that ALL airplanes belong to the Air Force " ya know them airplanes at Mecham Field...they ALL belong to the Air Force too..."

Searching around the net ..it would seem those that own the aircraft are indeed taking them back...
The T-28 may be at the Southern Museum of Flying, Alabama
The F-8 is at Vought, Dallas being restored...
The T-33 and F-105 is in Tyler at The Historic Aviation Memorial Museum

Here's a story on the H-43 recovery

The Voodoo is in its original colours, but it was not donated by the CAF. In the early 70s the CAF traded their surviving Voodoo back to the USAF for a new batch of 66 Voodoos. The USAF wanted the old CAF Voodoos because they had IFR probes. Some were converted to RF-101s and flown in Nevada. The Pate example s/n 59-0471 ex-RCAF 17471 and is on loan to the Museum by the USAF Museum.
