I saw this thread at Aero Vintage Books about someone who is building a display B-17 cockpit. From the photos, it looks great!

I've seen that one before on the FlyPast forum!
You can buy some of that stuff here http://stores.ebay.com/B-17-PANELS-STORE
There is even a full panel.
I think it looks great and I hope it will end up in a museum.

That's very cool.

A couple of Boeing caps on the steering wheels would really make it.

I was on the crew of the Sally B for 15 years and I served an apprenticeship in sheetmetal work, Having access to the equipment and looking at how it was construction, i thought I would have a go at building a cockpit section so people who cannot gain access to a B-17 could see for themselves what it was like.
Still a long way to go but I am getting there

Wasn't Salley B parked at TBM's hangar back in the 1980's, Sequoia Field, Visalia, Ca.?? There was one there.

The 17 parked along US 99 in Tulare is still looking rather sad. There is talk of tearing down the old Hangar, just North of where the B-17 and F-4 are on display. Also, local papers costantly run article about those wanting to replace Tulare's airport with homes, business, and industry. But I've noticed nothing is said about what is to become of the aircraft.
