In the picture with the C-46, I see a couple tails that jump out at me, Are the B-29 tails I see?

Tu-4 tails actually... but close enough.

Any pictures of those?

I wasn't sure if they (china) snagged some B-29s from Tthe US like the Soviets did during the war. I heard the Communists got several of our aricraft that way (i.e. P-61)

I belief China was a major operator of the type, but I am not sure if the airframes operated by China were built in China or Russia.

I would very much like a good resolution pics of a Tu-4 for my collection (1000x667 pixels minimum), since it is a very historically interesting type. Let me know if you know where I can find one.

I've never heard of China obtaining a B-29. To the best of my knowledge, all of their examples are Tu-4s.

About as close as you could get... They are Soviet Tu-4 copies modified with turboprop engines for use as early warning aircraft.

Hi Mike,

Try this photo I found on airliners.net. If it isn't big enough, contact Ruud Leeuw through their site. Strange enough, he is the guy who has the web page I found the IL-10s on!
