I recently had the great good fortune to spend some time with the team from the Lone Star Flight Museum who
were with Thunderbird at Oshkosh

Quite simply ~ there are as fine a bunch of people anyone could hope to meet

Image

( from left to right )
Cliff Spencer, Jim Cowart, Shirley Spencer, John Cowart, Al Maxwell ( Pilot ) and LSFM's President ~ Larry Gregory ( Co-pilot )

I also got to ride with them out of Oshkosh after the show ~ and that was just an outstanding experience :D

I tried to put my thoughts down for people to see ~ if anyone's interested .......

There are more pictures of a wonderful day ~ here ....

LSFM's new President ~ Larry Gregory ~ has a clear vision of how the museum could move forward and I wish him and everyone
involved the very best for 2007

Thankyou for highlighting "Thunderbird". She's a beautiful B-17G and I'm proud to be associated with her. The crew pictured replaced us on Wednesday at Oshkosh. Our crew brought her up from Galveston, Texas on Saturday to Muskegan, MI and then over to Oshkosh on Monday morning. I will always remember the experience. I can't say enough about the fine people we met and assisted during tours and discussions with the veterans. Most of these guys are advanced in age and some took the tour and crawled & walked all the way through the cockpit, the bomb bay & radioroom. I retreived a couple of neglected wives and helped them through while their husbands were still shooting down Focke-Wolf's & Messerschmitt's. We always had some cool water waiting for these special folks along with a lawn chair and the shade of the elevator.

My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting the crew pictured here when we were at Friday's airshow. They are some of the nicest people I've ever met and were kind enough to keep my wife occupied while the boys and I toured the aircraft.

I enjoyed going inside Thunderbird at Muskegon. A great plane and fine crew. Thanks! I wear my Thunderbird t-shirt with pride.
